I was looking for a Setting Spray and bought a new product from MAC´s Limited Edition “Mac Prep+Prime Fix+”. This product comes in 5 scents, but when I was at the MAC Store, they were only selling it in three scents. The collection includes Rose, Lavender, Yuzu, Cucumber and Coconut. I got mine in Rose and I love it. Mac Prep + Prime Fix+ is very multipurpose. It can be used under Make-Up, to finish Make-Up, to refresh Make-Up or just for a skin boost.
What the product says:
A lightweight mist of water packed with vitamins and minerals, infused with a blend of green tea, chamomile and cucumber to gently soothe and refresh the skin. Gives an instant boost of hydration while delivering a soft sheen to refresh and finish makeup.
Honestly, MAC sells this product as a Setting spray and I bought it for this reason. But when I did my Make-Up and used this product, I noticed that it is not a Setting spray. It is more like a refreshing water. It does not fix my Make-Up like it should. I am sure lots of people out there love to use it as a Setting spray and if it works for them, go for it! But unfortunately it does not work for me.
However, now I use it before makeup to freshen my face, on brushes to strengthen the pigmentation of eyeshadows and after my makeup to lock it in place. It gives an instant dewy finish to the skin – removes the powdery or cakey look that can appear when layering foundation, concealer and powders. It’s a readily accessible product and well packaged for travel with a lock on the spray top.
It works ideally for normal to dry skin but with oily skin might experience excess shine. It takes few seconds (around 30 – 60 seconds) in getting into the skin, but once penetrated it leaves the skin moisturized with natural glow on the surface.
All in all, I am happy I bought it because it is an ideal product for the summer. It instant calms the skin and makes it feel fresh. Unfortunately I need to buy a new Setting spray which is stronger and works for me.
Which Setting Spray would you recommend me?
Lots of love,
Gohar
