Many of you asked for a Review on the most hyped foundation on Instagram – so here you go. On my last trip in London I finally got my hands on the #FauxFilter foundation from Huda Beauty. Huda Beauty is an inspiration for me. I totally admire this lady for her hard work. And I already have some products from her collection, but this foundation has been on my wish list since the launch. I didn’t wanted to order it online as I wasn’t sure which shade was the right one for me. But I am glad that I had the chance to buy it in London.
When I was in Selfridge’s on the Oxford Street I noticed the Huda Beauty counter. I asked a shop assistant to help me find the right shade for me. She recommended me two shades: Macchiato and Baklava. She applied the Baklava shade on right side of my face and the Macchiato shade on the other side. At a first glance I couldn’t see a difference but she recommended me the Macchiato shade. I wanted to decide it for myself so I continued with my shopping to check which side of my face I liked more. However, in the end I liked my left side more so I bought the Macchiato shade.
Huda Beauty #FauxFilter Foundation Review
For my next day’s look I used this foundation to test it in detail. The consistency is a little bit dry and thick and has a full-coverage. I needed a little amount of the foundation for my whole face. The coverage is good and the Macchiato shade matches me perfectly. For the application I used my buffing brush from Zoeva. The foundation blended good and it doesn’t has a strong smell as most part of the people say. I have dry skin and I found this formula very drying for my skin. I could even see the dry patches around my mouth area which was very annoying. The foundation is very long-lasting.
Would I recommend this foundation?
All in all, I would say this is not a must-have product. This foundation was super hyped but a super let down for me. I really liked the coverage and the result. The pictures came out really good, which is I think we all want, right? But honestly, if you have dry skin, then this foundation isn’t the right one for you. I am still struggling with the dry patches whenever I use this foundation. And I am already using good hydrating cremes and primers but I never felt my skin so dry and tight as when I had this foundation on. I will stick to my Skin Long-Wear Weightless Foundation from Bobbi Brown.
Wishing you all a great day!
Lots of love,
Gohar
