Color Correction made easy!

This post should be a guideline/help for those, who have difficulties doing correct color correction. Over the past few months I have tried different products. Some of them are my favorites now and some I would never use again. You will be surprised but there is a brand, which has really good color correction products for very affordable prices. But before I begin with my faves one – let me tell you why it is important to color correct your face and if you really need it?

Everyone of us wants to have a flawless base. But to create a flawless base we need the right products and some knowledge when to use the right colors. Color correction is used to correct issues with our skin tone like acne scars, pigmentation, dark spots or red skin. If you don’t have skin tone issues, then you don’t have to use any color correct products at all – you are well provided with foundation and concealer.

So if you have redness due to pimples, you can simply use a green corrector. And if you have dark circles, darkness or any acne scarring then use the red or peach color correct. Use lavender to correct yellow tones on dull skin. I have pigmented skin around my mouth area and dark spots on my cheeks – therefore I always use peach/red color color correct.

L.A. Girl Cosmetics Pro HD Conceal

One of my favorite color correct in Green and Red are from L.A. Girl Cosmetics. I already did a blog post on this brand. This brand has amazed me from the beginning and the best part is that you get their products in a great quality for amazing prices. The applicator makes it super easy for me to apply the product on the areas where I want to correct. Both products are just amazing, especially the red one. I use the red corrector for my dark under-eye circles and pigmentation around my mouth area and the result is just wow!

NYX Cosmetics HD Studio Photogenic Concealer

My another favorite color correct in Green is from NYX Cosmetics. In Austria this product was almost out of stock every time when I wanted to buy it so I got it from the U.K. I love the applicator brush of this corrector. I use it to cancel out some redness on my face and it works very well.

Artdeco Color Correcting Palette

As you already know I have a thing for palettes. This “Most Wanted Color Correcting Palette” from Artdeco was sent to me for testing it and it is now a part of my faves list. I just love it when a palette looks amazing and the product delivers amazing results as well. The palette comes with a beautiful brush and a mirror too plus it is very affordable.

Stila One Step Correct Primer

Sometimes when I don’t have enough time to color correct my skin tone I use the “One Step Correct Primer” from Stila Cosmetics. The primer was hyped on Instagram and as you know I always buy hyped products to test them so I bought it. And it exceeded my expectations – I love the result every time when I use it. The primer promises to prime, color-correct, brighten and nourish the skin tone and it definitely does what it says. I love how my Makeup looks soooo good and it also gives me a little glow-effect. To be honest, since I bought this primer, I have become very lazy to color correct my skin with other products, so I just use this product and then continue with foundation and do the rest of the Makeup.
